  Sallis Department store, I remember it well. I still have in my possession a black silk mourning tie in pristine condition labelled J F Sallis. It was given to me on the occasion of my paternal grandfathers funeral in 1950. I have reason to believe that it was purchased in the 1920’s. The store was taken over by a firm trading under the name of Leslies Stores in about 1948 and continued to serve Cwm with the same type of goods as it’s predecessor.
