I was in Duffryn school just before they introduced the Comprehensive School in Ebbw Vale . I used to walk to Curry St at dinner time to my Aunty Ivy Warren’s .it was a great school .Mr Paddy Sheen used to cover some of our lessons, Mr Brewer I think was Deputy head master ..I remembered the RE teacher I think he was a lay preacher too ..I can’t remember anymore. I asked to move to Glyncoed as it was near my home plus I didn’t like the slag heap behind the school I worried there would be a copy of Aberfan . After Glyncoed we were transferred the new Comprehensive school in Ebbw Vale.. There the the teachers from Duffryn Was once again teaching me. I thought that was great they were great teachers.
